This month, I've been trying to enjoy every minute. And yes, David has been very busy with school. But I've tried to be "actively patient." This means that instead of waiting around for the second David gets home for school every day, I've come up with projects, started reading for a bookclub, made friends, planned dinners with friends, made meals, started sewing a blanket, and exercised everyday. This helped me avoid several normally-tearful situations like when David's classes lasted longer than planned, or when he wanted to go exercise right after he came home from school. Instead of having a meltdown, I kept on doing the fun activities I'd planned for myself, and I genuinely enjoyed doing them because they were important to me.
As Dietier F. Uchtdorf said, "patience is not passive resignation, nor is it failing to act because of our fears. Patience means active waiting and enduring. It means staying with something and doing all that we can—working, hoping, and exercising faith; bearing hardship with fortitude, even when the desires of our hearts are delayed. Patience is not simply enduring; it is enduring well!"
And that's my plan: to endure well.
