Sugar and Spice Baby Shower for Lily

Like I've said before, everyone here has been so welcoming and kind to our little family.  And Lily's second baby shower made me feel so loved.  Our new friends from the ward Sam, Michelle, and Michelle put together this beautiful baby shower, and I am so grateful for all the hard work and time they put into making it so special.

My friend Rebecca from work.  She lives in the dorms with us, and has been so kind and helpful ever since we moved in.  She gave us a pink jeweled lamp, and it fits perfectly in Lily's room.

Chelsea came :) I've known her since sophomore year of high school, and I'm so grateful she could come to my shower.

I just love this girl.  I met Kylie through her aunt who was my midwife for a few weeks.  Her aunt insisted that I give Kylie a call because both our husbands are first year medical students.  So I randomly called her, even though I had no idea who she was.   And I've loved her since day one.  She is so kind and full of life, and I've loved having lunch dates with her every couple of weeks.  David and her husband Lucas have become friends at school too.  What great people :)

My cute sister-in-law Tami. She has ALWAYS been so kind and accepting of me ever since I met her a couple years ago when I started dating David. I get to see her several times a week because we work together.  And several people get us mixed up, and this pictures shows why.  We look alike.  We're only 1 1/2 years apart, and I've just loved getting to have her as my new sister :) I'm so glad she could come to the shower.  She is going to be such a great aunt.

Part one: the food.  Fruit salad, vegetable pasta with feta, powdered doughnuts, rolls, lemonade, chocolate-covered pretzels, sparkly gumballs, pink and blue taffy, and rock candy.  Everything sugar and spice :) Could this be more adorable?

Part two: my favorite.  The girls met up with David one afternoon while he was at school and recorded a video of him talking about me and Lily.  It was a surprise to me, and it was so cute to hear David talk about how excited he is to meet and hold Lily.  And he talked about how much he loves me and of course cracked some jokes.  I LOVED watching it.  It's just so wonderful to have a best friend who knows your best and worst moments and just loves you.  He said some really really sweet things, and I am so excited to get a copy of it.  Watching the video reminded me of my bridal shower when my best friends filmed David about us getting married.  I miss my best friends, but having this video made me feel like they were there because they would have done the same thing.  What a great idea :)

Part three: the gifts.  I received so many thoughtful and generous gifts.  I just felt overwhelmed by how kind everyone was, and I feel so blessed to have so many new friends already.  Here are some of the gifts I received; I'm saving the rest so Lily can model them in person :) My due date is 3 weeks away from tomorrow; how incredible.

My sweet friend Aimee knitted these adorable little boots for Lily as well as two adorable hats.  She is so talented; I just love these.  And Aimee got me GIANT cupcake tins because she knows how much I love cupcakes.  What thoughtful gifts.  I met Aimee because David is friends with her husband at school, and we've got to hang out with them a lot.  It's been so fun to get to know them.

My friend Melanie sewed this book; I LOVE it.

Now Lily will have lots of hair accessories.  I am so excited to have all of these :)

And Lily is all ready for the Christmas season.  I'm not sure if the poofy skirt will fit her this Christmas, but definitely next.  I'm such a festive person, and I think Lily is too.  These are such perfect gifts to help us celebrate Christmas.
