My sweet, sweet friend sent me one of the most exciting packages I received for little Lil. It was a giant box filled with spools of ribbon, curly ribbon, buttons, alligator clips, and feathers so I could make hairbands and bows for Lily. She knows that I love to craft and make hairbows for Lil; this was just such a thoughtful and creative gift. I can't even tell you how excited I was to open it; my husband thought I was psycho.
Here is my first project attempt. I sewed this little dress for Lil for our family pictures. I used some of the ribbon to sew around the waist, and I made a matching hairbow. For the top half, I cut off the top of an old onzie, and I used leftover fabric my mother-in-law gave me for a grand total of $0. The colors are random, but little girls can get away with anything. I didn't have to go shopping at all; I just looked around the house to see what we already had. And that's the best kind of savings for this med school mamma.
Also, I'd LOVE to swap buttons with you if you shoot me an email at sara_walker@byu.net. Only qualifications are that your blog be clean and positive because those are the kinds of blogs I like to support :)
