Finding Lily's daddy

David has proved to be the most amazing father to sweet Lily.  Cute little daddy moments that show that he just adores her.  A few nights ago, he got back out of bed after putting her to sleep to make sure she was warm enough in her blankets.  And every night before bed, he makes sure we say family prayers while she's still awake because she is a part of our family.  Or Valentine's Day when he thoughtfully picked out a little gift for her.  I love watching David read stories to her, tease her, and snuggle.  She loves her daddy.

Not only that, but David treats me like gold. He's always there to put aside his homework and listen to me cry about how some of my clothes don't fit anymore, snuggle me before we fall asleep, and bring me breakfast in bed when I've had a late night with Lily.  I couldn't have picked a better husband or a better father for Lily. 

When I hold my sweet Lily and think about what a wonderful daddy she has, I realize that all those hard years of dating and break-ups were worth it because she has a daddy who adores both of us.  And what a blessing that will be for her as she grows up.  Those years of dating helped me find an incredible daddy for Lily.

When those stressful dating moments arise and you feel like your heart has broken into a million little pieces, remember those children that will one day be yours.  They are cheering for you, watching over you, and depending on you to bring them into a loving home.  Don't you dare give up or settle because finding a good daddy for those precious little ones is worth every sacrifice and heartache.
